The Eighth Congress of the China Zhi Gong Party Fuqing City Committee Convened, with Overseas Chinese Organization Representatives Invited to Attend

Fuqing, Fujian, March 15 (Zheng Songbo)On March 14, the Eighth Congress of the China Zhi Gong Party Fuqing City Committee was held in Fuqing. Attendees included Wu Mianguo, full-time Vice Chairperson of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party; Yan Ping, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Fuzhou People’s Congress and Chairperson of the Fuzhou Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party; Weng Xiaojie, Vice Chairperson of the Fujian Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; and Fuqing City leaders Cai Hebin, Lin Chuanxuan, Wu Huayun, and He Wenjin。

The congress received congratulatory messages and letters from 23 overseas organizations across six continents. Among them, overseas Chinese groups in Japan, such as the Japan Fujian Economic and Cultural Promotion Association, the Japan Fujian Economic and Cultural Exchange Association, the Japan-China Fuqing Chamber of Commerce, and the Japan Huangbo Culture Promotion Association, sent their congratulations to the congress. Representatives from overseas Chinese organizations were invited to attend the congress and were seated in the front row. These representatives included Chen Shijin, Honorary Chairperson of the Argentine Albo Fong Charitable Foundation and Chairperson of the Argentine Fuqing Association; Wu Zhanggeng, Chairperson of the Argentine Sanfu Business Association; Yan Xinmao, Supervisor of the Hongmen Association in Argentina; Li Yunshu, Executive Vice Chairperson of the Japan Fujian Economic and Cultural Promotion Association and Vice Chairperson of the Japan Huangbo Culture Promotion Association; and Soma Keiko, Executive Vice Chairperson of the Japan-China Fuqing Chamber of Commerce and Vice Chairperson of the Japan Huangbo Culture Promotion Association。

The congress report stated that the Fuqing Municipal Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party leveraged its unique overseas Chinese and maritime connections to expand the scope of international relations, strengthen cultural exchanges, and promote religious and cultural exchanges between China and Japan as well as across the Taiwan Strait. It highlighted efforts to promote Huangbo and Shizhu Mountain religious cultures, fostering friendship between the two regions. The committee also organized summer and winter camps for overseas Chinese youth to deepen their understanding of and emotional connection to their ancestral homeland。

The report noted that the Fuqing Municipal Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party worked with overseas Chinese communities to provide assistance to those in need, spreading the party’s goodwill. It collaborated with Chinese communities in Argentina and Japan to donate to schools in northern Fujian and extend support to disadvantaged overseas Chinese.During the COVID-19 pandemic, the committee, through its external liaison department, organized fundraising efforts and facilitated the donation of pandemic prevention materials. These contributions came from overseas Chinese organizations such as the Japan Fujian Economic and Cultural Promotion Association, the Japan Fujian Economic and Cultural Exchange Association, the Japan-China Fuqing Chamber of Commerce, the Japan Huangbo Culture Promotion Association, the Fuqing Overseas Chinese High School Alumni Association in Japan, the Argentine Hongmen Association, the Argentine Albo Fong Charitable Foundation, and the Argentine Fuqing Association.Subsequently, the committee actively supported overseas Chinese in their fight against the pandemic. It responded to calls from the Central Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party, the Fujian Provincial Committee, and the Fuzhou Municipal Committee, encouraging its members to donate "Zhi Gong Love Care Packages."。

In his speech, Wu Mianguo fully affirmed the achievements of the Fuqing Municipal Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party over the past six years and congratulated the newly elected leadership. He expressed hope that the new leadership team would unite and guide all party members in Fuqing, focusing on building ideological consensus to strengthen the shared political foundation.He emphasized the importance of focusing on enhancing the "overseas Chinese and maritime" brand, actively fulfilling duties, and providing suggestions to support the development of the overseas Chinese hometown. Leveraging their overseas Chinese and maritime advantages, the committee should conduct in-depth research and studies to integrate fully into the core area of the "Maritime Silk Road" and accelerate the progress of the China-Indonesia "Two Countries, Twin Parks" initiative, while actively reflecting the interests and concerns of the overseas Chinese community.He encouraged deepening friendship-building and overseas Chinese-related work with Taiwan, playing an active role in uniting overseas Chinese hearts, gathering their wisdom, utilizing their strengths, and safeguarding their rights, thereby demonstrating the patriotic sentiment of the overseas Chinese and maritime community through dedicated services to overseas Chinese。

The meeting reviewed and approved the work report of the 7th Committee of the Fuqing Municipal Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party. Through a secret ballot, the 8th Committee was elected, with He Hualong, a member of the Fuzhou and Fuqing Municipal Committees of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of the Fuqing No. 1 High School Trade Union, being elected as the new chairman。

Officials from the United Front Work Department of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee, the Fuqing Municipal People’s Congress, the CPPCC, and the Provincial Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party attended the meeting。
