On February 25, 2022, the Imperial Household Agency of Japan awarded a certificate to the Japanese Obaku School, conferring the posthumous honorary title of “Master Yantong” to Master Ingen. This was the seventh time the Japanese imperial family has bestowed a title upon Master Ingen。
To commemorate this occasion, the Japanese Obaku School produced replicas of Master Ingen’s “Master Yantong” honorary title certificate and distributed them to more than 300 branch temples across Japan, allowing the entire Obaku community to share in this significant honor。
