Fuqing is a key hometown of overseas Chinese in China, and there are many Fuqing compatriots living in Japan. The Fuqing Association of Japan was formerly the Japan-China Fuqing Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It applied for registration and establishment on February 5, 2020. It is composed of a group of Fuqing compatriots in Japan. The purpose is to promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields between Japan and the motherland, increase the unity of Fuqing compatriots in Japan, and seek common development. The first thing the association did after its establishment was to donate epidemic prevention materials to the hometown. In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, the association donated protective clothing, masks, medical gloves and other epidemic prevention materials to the Fuqing Red Cross Society many times. At the same time, when the epidemic spread in Japan, the association, with the support of all walks of life in the hometown, donated epidemic prevention materials to the overseas Chinese compatriots in Japan and the local Japanese society. The association has raised donations many times to help the education cause of the hometown. The association promises to continue to contribute to the promotion of cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and Japan and friendly exchanges between the people, continue to gather the strength of overseas Chinese in Japan, help various public welfare undertakings in Fuqing, and make new contributions to promoting the common development of overseas Chinese in Japan and the hometown。
