The Japan-China Fuqing Chamber of Commerce Donates Protective Face Shields to Japanese Medical Institutions

On April 20, Ryūji Watanabe, President of the Japan-China Fuqing Chamber of Commerce and CEO of Kanemitsu Construction Co., Ltd., donated a total of 42 boxes containing 8,400 protective face shields to two Japanese medical institutions: Tōsen-en Kitamoto Hospital and Gokō Hospital。

Hiroshi Koyama, President of Tōsen-en Kitamoto Hospital and Gokō Hospital, stated that the protective face shields were urgently needed by medical staff as large-scale vaccinations are about to begin. President Koyama expressed his gratitude for the selfless assistance provided by the Japan-China Fuqing Chamber of Commerce。

It is reported that this donation was facilitated and supported by the office of Shinphei Matsushita, a member of the Japanese House of Councillors。

The Japan-China Fuqing Chamber of Commerce was officially registered in Japan on February 5, 2020. It is composed of Fuqing natives residing in Japan, working in industries such as construction, trade, and food services. The members aim to establish a new platform for exchange and collaboration between Japan and their hometown of Fuqing, fostering the development of their own businesses and bilateral cooperation across various fields。

Last year, when the pandemic initially broke out in China, donating epidemic prevention materials to their hometown became the first task undertaken by the Japan-China Fuqing Chamber of Commerce after its establishment. The chamber made multiple donations of masks, protective suits, and goggles to the Fuqing Red Cross Society. As the pandemic spread in Japan, the chamber, with the support of various sectors in their hometown, extended its assistance by donating protective materials to overseas Chinese compatriots in Japan and the local Japanese community。
