Fuqing, Fujian, June 4 – According to the official WeChat account of the Fuqing Museum, recently, Fujian-born overseas Chinese in Japan, Mr. Weng Chenglong, sent a precious Han green-glazed jar from Japan as a donation to the Fuqing Overseas Chinese Museum.The Han green-glazed jar measures 15 cm in diameter and 12 cm in height, featuring a round mouth and a bulging body with a beautiful glaze. Han green glaze was a newly invented type of pottery during the Han dynasty, created through low-temperature glazing techniques。
Mr. Weng Chenglong resides in Tokyo, Japan, and serves as the Secretary of the Fuqing Chamber of Commerce in Japan and the Huangbo Culture Promotion Association of Japan. He is passionate about supporting the development of his hometown’s museum and expresses his goodwill through artifact donations.Due to the pandemic, he chose to send the Han green-glazed jar via mail, carefully placing it in a brocade box with reinforced waterproof packaging. The artifact arrived intact。
The head of the Fuqing Museum stated that this precious Han green-glazed jar enriches the museum’s collection and exhibition of ancient ceramic masterpieces, holding significant historical and artistic value. It provides strong support for the successful opening of the Fuqing Overseas Chinese Museum at the end of June。
