Song Kening’s Heartfelt Message on Huangbo Culture
Fuqing Chamber of Commerce in Japan November 1, 2021, 1:36 AM
On April 28, 2014, Song Kening, then Director of the Fujian Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, accompanied Taiwanese Confucian scholar and national studies master Jiang Yizi on a visit to Huangbo Mountain in Fuqing. During the visit, Jiang introduced the origins of Huangbo culture to Director Song and held in-depth discussions on promoting Sino-Japanese cultural exchanges through Huangbo culture to further the cause of Sino-Japanese friendship. This directly led to the establishment of the Huangbo Culture Promotion Association。
Song Kening praised the achievements of the Huangbo Culture Promotion Association over the past few years. He stated that Fuqing, as an integral part of the construction of the Fuzhou New District, possesses unique resources and historical connections for international exchanges. Huangbo culture, as the most distinctive and far-reaching cultural element in the region, should be further explored and studied. Efforts should be made to promote and expand Huangbo culture to serve Fujian, contribute to Sino-Japanese friendship, and benefit future generations。
Wu Qilong, President of the Japan Fujian Economic and Cultural Promotion Association, Lin Guanchao, Associate Professor of Philosophy at Xiamen University, and several members of the Huangbo Culture Promotion Association in Fuqing were present at the discussion. (By Nian Jiansheng)。
