Yin Li, Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, Meets with Hideo Tarumi, Japanese Ambassador to China

On November 2, Yin Li, Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, met with Hideo Tarumi, Japanese Ambassador to China, and his delegation in Fuzhou. Zhao Long, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Acting Governor, attended the meeting and banquet。
Yin Li welcomed Ambassador Tarumi and his delegation to Fujian and briefly introduced the province's economic and social development, as well as Fujian-Japan exchange and cooperation efforts.Yin Li noted that China and Japan are separated by a sea but share a long history of friendship.On October 8, President Xi Jinping had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, providing guidance for the proper development of bilateral relations.Fujian and Japan have a long history of friendly exchanges, and in recent years, both sides have maintained close people-to-people and economic interactions.Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of China-Japan diplomatic relations. It is hoped that this milestone will serve as an opportunity to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, jointly promote the steady development of local relations, deepen and expand Fujian’s sister city exchanges with Nagasaki and Okinawa, and further explore cooperation in cultural tourism, healthcare, and elderly care industries. This will contribute to building a Sino-Japanese relationship that meets the requirements of the new era.We will further optimize the business environment, provide quality services to Japanese companies operating in Fujian, and attract more Japanese entrepreneurs to invest and do business in the province。
Hideo Tarumi expressed his delight at returning to Fujian after many years and witnessing the rapid development and transformation of the province. He remarked that Fujian is a livable and attractive place for both living and business.He emphasized the importance of valuing and cherishing the friendship between the two sides, further strengthening friendly exchanges, promoting economic and cultural exchanges, engaging in deeper cooperation across broader fields, and enhancing mutual trust to create a better future together。
Guo Ningning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Governor, along with relevant provincial government officials, Japanese Consul General in Guangzhou Keiji Kamei, and representatives of Japanese companies, also attended the meeting. (By Zhou Lin)
On November 2, Ambassador Hideo Tarumi, accompanied by Consul General Keiji Kamei from the Consulate-General of Japan in Guangzhou, visited Fujian Province and met with Fujian Party Secretary Yin Li in Fuzhou.Representatives from the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, the Fuzhou Japan Business Association, the Xiamen Japanese Business Club, the Nagasaki Prefecture Shanghai Office, and the Okinawa Prefecture Shanghai Office attended the meeting.After the meeting, a dinner hosted by Party Secretary Yin Li was held。
During the meeting, Ambassador Tarumi noted that Fujian Province has had deep ties with Japan since ancient times and has played an important role as a bridge for Japan-China exchanges. He expressed his hope to further strengthen friendly relations with Fujian Province in the future.The two sides discussed ways to improve the business environment for Japanese enterprises in Fujian and to promote exchanges in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the normalization of Japan-China diplomatic relations next year。
Ambassador Tarumi also mentioned exchange plans between Manpukuji Temple in Kyoto, associated with Master Ingen, and Manpukuji Temple in Fuqing.He stated that the Embassy of Japan in China would provide maximum support for this plan。
Additionally, Daisuke Mikogami, President of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, spoke about the economic relationship between Japan and Fujian Province.He also handed over the chamber’s annual White Paper on China’s Economy and Japanese Enterprises to Party Secretary Yin during the meeting。
